We were thrilled upon examining the sharp circular saw blade of Makita sh02r1. 3-3/8" module delivers a maximum cutting depth of 1" for abroad spectrum of cutting applications.
The power tool comes with Adjustable cutting depth from 1" at 90° and 5/8" at 45°, which is perfect for delivering accuracy for the cutting.
The tilting base for bevel cuts has a capacity from 0° - 45°, which is excellent for a lightweight product.
The blade wrench is attached to saw for fast and easy blade changing. Saving time for its user has a significant impact on the purchasing decisions of any contractor.
Inbuilt blower: This impressive and powerful feature is an efficient one. When the blade runs at 1500 RPM, the powdered dust of the wood makes a mess, but thanks to the inbuilt blower the sand blows away making it clear for us to cut with precision and accuracy. Although these days many of the circular saws come with a fan, Makita sh02r1 offers many features than its competing products like DeWalt dwe575 and Bosch gts1031. It is a beautifully designed power tool which will be loved by individuals all around.
Design: It is a brilliant cordless circular saw kit. Small but powerful enough to get the job done and lightweight to carry around anywhere on the job site plus fits in just about any space available, might not be as powerful as a big saw but it gets things done only takes a little more time. The 12V Max C.X.T. combines performance with superior ergonomics in a compact size. Makita sh02r1 is designed unlike any other saw in its range. The comfortable handle grip, the ultra-compact size, which is used for smaller frames. Visible battery percentage indicator, easily changeable blade and the dust blower inside this small power tool makes Makita sh02r1 a remarkable product.
Cordless: Many of the similar jigsaw or circular saw products in the market are not cordless; they come with an electrical cord, which limits any worker to be nearby an electrical switchboard. We have to carry extension cords in meters to carry out our cutting tasks. When we asked a friend, who used the Makita sh02r1 before he said, "great little saw for when you want to cut plywood but don't want (or can't use) a heavier corded saw. I would have liked it if it used the same batteries as my 18volt Makita tools, but the lightweight and low cost make it worth having the different batteries and charger."
Brushless motor: The advantages of Makita sh02r1 brushless motor over other brushed motored saws are high power to weight ratio, high speed, and electronic control. Brushless motors are used in many things like computer peripherals (disk drives, printers), hand-held power tools, and vehicles ranging from model aircraft to automobiles. Another advantage of Brushless motors over brushed motors (low weight, high efficiency) is more critical to hand-held, battery-powered tools than to large, stationary appliances plugged into an A.C. outlet.
Kickback causes and warnings: Kickback is an unexpected reaction to a pinched, bound or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the user; when the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade overloads and the motor reaction drives the unit suddenly back toward the user. If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can thrust into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of saw misuse and incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be positively avoided by taking proper precautions as following
1. Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position your body on either side of the blade, but not in line with the blade.
2. When the blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless in the material until the edge comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from work or pull the saw backward while the module is in motion or kickback may occur.
3. When restarting a saw in the workpiece, center the saw blade in the kerf and check those saw teeth are not interlocked into the material.
4. Large panels tend to sag under their weight. Supports must be placed under the board on both sides, near the line of cut and the edge of the panel.
5. Do not use dull or damaged blades.
Battery protection system: The tool is equipped with a battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the motor to extend the battery life.
The device will automatically stop during operation if the tool and battery are placed under one of the following conditions:
Overloaded: The machine is steered in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current. In this situation, release the switch trigger on the tool and stop the execution that caused the machine to become overloaded. Then pull the switch trigger again to restart. If the tool does not start, the battery is overheated. In this situation, let the battery cool before removing the switch trigger again.
Low battery voltage: The remaining battery capacity is not enough to power the tool so the tool will not operate. If you pull the switch trigger, the motor runs again but stops soon. In this situation, remove and recharge the battery.
Makita SH02R1 12V Max C.X.T. Lithium-Ion Cordless Circular Saw Kit, 3-3/8" is a must buy for smaller framing projects for contractors. Its size, design, and power optimization of the rechargeable battery is a boon for users. Makita has delivered on its legacy to create and sell products which are unprecedented yet efficient and straightforward to operate on. It is comparatively compact and light weighted than its competitor, DeWalt dwe575, which is a corded saw. It is a good investment and worth every penny.
The SH02R1 weighs only 3.5 lbs. with 12V max C.X.T. 2.0Ah battery) with 1,500 RPM. With a 1" capacity, it accurately cuts plywood, M.D.F., pegboard, particleboard, melamine, and drywall. It's a perfect product for users seeking a more compact cutting solution with less weight or for applications in tight spaces. We have been using this product for about two weeks, and it has saved us power, saved our energy by reducing fatigue caused by heavy weighted saws. Makita is a trusted Japanese company which has created quality products for generations. This is one such continuation of their innovative range of products for all the power tool segments.
