When it comes to purchasing a reciprocating saw, we must know that cut through just about everything except a rock. It's the ultimate contractor's tool for remodeling and demolition. With a reciprocating saw (also called a Sawzall, the brand name of Milwaukee's device), you can cut through lumber even if it's implanted with nails. It can also rip all common forms of metal: steel, aluminum, copper, and cast iron. But to get the most out of your tool, you'll need a few extra accessories.
When we purchased the Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL® Reciprocating Saw 2720 (Tool Only), it came in color printed corrugated box with only one item and a Manuel inside.
When we opened the box, the product was wrapped in a plastic bag and a black protective sheath to avoid any sharp cuts upon handling the tool when not in use. The package did not include any batteries; they will have to be separately purchased. But we recommend that the cells are worth it and they are cutting edge technology, better than anything else in the market.

Although the Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL® Reciprocating Saw 2720 does not come with a battery, (Batteries are sold separately) The M18™ REDLITHIUM™ XC5.0 Battery Pack delivers up to 2.5X runtime and gives the user more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries available in the market. The 18-volt lithium-ion SAWZALL® features an adjustable shoe; integrated LED light and a rafter hook for convenient storage while you are on the job and in need to move for a while which happens a lot on construction sites.
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL execute faster and accurate cutting than corded cutting speed and the durability of a corded saw. This Sawzall has massive power and a long stroke. We have tested 3 of the M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL reciprocating saws, and none of them showed any defect or problem when in operation.
When we asked one of the fellow users of the reciprocating saw, they said, mighty and cut through material with ease but they had multiple issues with only moderate use. Upon asking another fellow professional user, they had a very vivid opinion on the saw.
They used the reciprocating saw numerous times a day for cutting off car body components in the yard and shop works great, and it has been in service for over three weeks, and everybody is super pleased beats our previous competitors produce will recommend it to our fellow contractors in our association.
Electric Brakes: The electronic brake engages when the trigger is released, resulting in the blade to stop and enabling the user to proceed with their work. Generally, the saw blade stops within two seconds. But sometimes, there can be a delay between the time the user releases the trigger and when the brake engages. Occasionally the brake may miss entirely. If the brake misses, again and again, the saw needs servicing by an authorized MILWAUKEE service facility. The user should always wait for the blade to stop completely before removing the saw from the workpiece.
Please have your power tool be serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will make sure that the safety of the power tool is maintained correctly. Never service damaged battery packs. The manufacturer or authorized service providers should only perform service of battery packs.
Selecting the blade: Blade Clamp can be used with all 1/2" shank universal Sawzall® blades. We would recommend using only MILWAUKEE High-Performance Super Sawzall® blades for optimum performance. When selecting a module, choose the right type and length.
Many types of blades are available for a diverse range of applications: cutting metal, wood, nail-embedded wood, scroll cutting, roughing in, and contours. Many lengths are also available to choose from. The user must Choose a range long enough to extend beyond the shoe and your work throughout the stroke. The user must not use blades less than 4" long since they won't extend beyond the pump throughout the stroke.
Installing and Removing Blades from the unique Quik-Lok® Blade Clamp: Remove battery pack 1 2 before changing the blade. Make sure the spindle and blade clamp areas are clean. Metal chips and sawdust may prevent the Quik-Lok® Blade Clamp from clamping securely, so the user should keep an eye on that.
Depending on the category job, the blade can be inserted with the teeth facing up or down. To install a blade, slide the release lever up. Insert the blade into the clamp until the tang knocks against the collar. Then, Release the gear, and the spring-loaded mechanism will clamp the blade steadily in place. Pull it to make sure it is securely locked in place. To remove the blade, slide the release lever up and pull the blade from the tool. Be careful when handling hot leaves, sometimes in haste, we forget that the module is hot, and it can severely harm the user.
Cordless: Most of the power tools, including saws in the market, come with an electrical cord, which limits any worker to be nearby an electrical switchboard. We have to carry extension cords in meters to carry out our cutting tasks. The battery is heavy duty, and the saw and the battery are carried along. This freedom of taking the power tool anywhere makes the user reasonably satisfied. Professionals all over are switching from corded power tools to cordless power tools.
Brushless motor: The brushless motor has significant advantages over brushed motors such as. The benefits of a brushless motor over brushed motors are high power to weight ratio, high speed, and electronic control. Another advantage of Brushless motors over brushed motors (low weight, high efficiency) are more critical to handheld, battery-powered tools than to large, stationary appliances plugged into an AC outlet, so uptake has been faster in that segment of the market.
Rafter Hook: When you are working as a contractor, you cannot stay at the same place for a long time. You have to move around to complete your work. Whenever the user has to move away from the job site to another one, for everyone's safety, the saw needs to be placed in a position to avoid anyone getting hurt. The Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL comes with a comfortably perched rafter hook that helps the user to instantly hang the saw to a safe and comfortably heightened place. All love this time-saving feature.
Safety precautions: While using The Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL for a considerable period we've learned some excellent safety precaution measures, and it is pertinent to share them with all the people who are interested or will be running this heavy duty powered reciprocal saw.
Job site safety: Keep work area clean and well lit. Untidy or dark work areas bare huge risks of accidents. We recommend that do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. Please keep children and bystanders away while operating any power tool. Distractions can cause the user to lose control.
Electrical Safety measure: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. The user should never modify the plug in any way. The user should not use any adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
Avoid any body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators — the risk of getting an electric shock if the user's body is earthed or grounded.
The user must not expose the power tool to wetness or rain. Water slipping into the machine will increase the chances of getting an electric shock.
Specific Safety rules for The Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL: The user should hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting attachment touching a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
The user must always use common sense and be very cautious when using tools. It is not possible to predict every situation that could result in an adverse outcome. A user must not use this tool if they do not understand these operating instructions or feel the work is beyond their capability.
Most of the users of the Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL have been very satisfied with the performance of the power tool. However, some users have a few complaints on the grounds of battery life and say that the battery runs out very soon, and they have to keep multiple cells as a backup to keep up a smooth operation. But the complaints have been from a few users only, and the rest are perfectly happy with the solution The Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ SAWZALL is providing them against any corded reciprocating saw.
We have used this power saw for a while now, and we can say it is a unique and competent product and will be worth the investment of both time and money.
